You should understand that she really does not have that much extra time, and you guys probbaly hang out during most of it anyways.

If she sees you going out with other girls all the time, she's going to assume that you've moved on from her, and when she is free to date, she's not going to come to you.
Let her know what you just told us - that when she decides she's got the time and she wants to go out with you later on, that you'd be ecstatic.

The word date scares a lot of girls. I am pre med too and I know the pressures but there are always gaps in time that are available. I would suggest that you start by asking her to meet you at a convenient restaurant for dinner. Lunch or breakfast on weekends works well too. She has to eat and it would give you a chance for some alone time without the one-on-one pressures of a DATE.

try to get to know her as best you can without spending too much time with her so she doesnt feel smothered. if someone really likes you they'll be willing to make the effort to be with you, no matter how busy they are. but if youre not that close she cant like you but so much at this point.
