I want to get a tattoo to remember my dead grandmother. Her first name was mary and herlast name started with a J, so I was thinking of just tattooing the words mary j on the back of my neck, and write her birth and death day. what do you think? Im not exactly sure, but im kinda lookin for a few ideas..

I don't like it.
I don't like text tattoos though.
Get a symbol to remind you of her instead, wouldn't that be more personal?

I'd say u should put it somewhere in an unnoticable place, since u wanna remember it and not other ppl keep askin u about ur dead gma. No oofence, but I would never get something like that cause that only means you won't remember her otherwise. Just imagine being with a girl, I mean in the bed, and ur both like all excited and she goes like "wats dat mean?" and u go "Meh. That's my dead grandma." And she has to go through looking at it every time... ugh. That's why I dislike everything permanent that can at least sometimes ruin anything. I'd say don't get it.

No offence to you or your grandma, I'm sure she deserves something liek this...

sooo you need a tattoo to remember a loved one..I dont get people, if you love her enough than why need a picture or words carved into ur body so you can remember her?

If you don't want your father tattooed on you... that means you've got to get someone elses? If you don't want a tattoo of your father, don't get one, did anybody tell you to? As far as everything else goes, I really hope you're not getting it just to remember her, because that's how you made it sound, and if that's true, don't bother.

I know some people though legit respect that stuff and get it, for good reasons. So if that's you, do it. But don't initial it Mary J, that's diversifying the message. I like the person who said just getting a symbol would be more personal than your grandmother herself, that makes a lot of sense and could be really deep. Then again, people might ask about it even more, I don't know. I personally wouldn't get a tattoo of a loved one who has passed away.
