i just downloaded a new program (river past video cleaner)  from bittorent.  When i open it up and try to add a file, it suddenly closes and a sign says that DEP has closed the program.  I open up to more files, they were .avi and .mkv and both did not work.  I went to windows help and found out the way to disable it for that program by putting on the exceptions list and it still did not work.  my friend uses the program and it seems to be popular so it shouldn't be a bad program.  i don't think it is the files thats causing it to close by the DEP.  is it the program??  maybe i should re-download another one off of bittorent?  (DEP= data execution prevention)  is there anything else that i can do?

DEP is a security utility that prevents malicious code from being executed on your machine.

Paying for software means that you're going to get (generally good) customer support for problems such as this.  Try going to the company's forum (if they have one) and checking to see if anyone else has the same issue.
