Married, In a Relationship, It's Complicated...?

I see a lot of different things around for the 'relationship status' option on facebook (I don't know about any of those other kinds of sites).  A lot of people are writing 'married', and some of them are like 18, but others are like 14... and I know none of them are ~actually~ married.  Of course you get the occasional 'its complicated'.

So... if you deal with any of these status things, what do you set yours on if you're in a relationship?  Do you change it to married, even if you're not married after a certain point?

Just curious.

Mine says I'm married to a girl friend of mine.  :p
Anyway, if my friends are in a relationship, they'll usually just put "in a relationship."  Not even saying who.

it's my understanding that the couples that have "married" are also the ones most likely to break up
i've been with my boyfriend for two years and we are just "in a relationship"

I would just put "In a relationship" and once it's been long enough that everyone knows, maybe 2 months, make it "Married" because it shows we're happy together.

Haha, that's kind of how I feel.  But I mean, only if they jump RIGHT into 'married', and it also depends on whether or not I know the person.  I mean, the person that triggered this thought is like... 14?

And yeah, I have 'in a relationship', with no name associated to it.

Mine and my boyfriends was always 'In a Relationship'

Our families always said we acted like a married couple, so after a year of being together, we just changed it to 'Married' as a little inside-joke thingy there.
