If I straighten my naturally curly hair with a flat iron and put the hot rollers in will they still curl my hair just as good as if I were to blow dry it and put volumizing mousse in it?

When I curl my hair with a curling iron, I air-dry it and then curl pieces of it. It looks really nice.
