i'm gonna pierce my cartilage. can i just use like a regular marker to mark where i wanna pierce it? or would that infect it or some shit. any other tips before i do it?

Here's some good advice.

ALCOHOL DOES NOT STERILIZE NEEDLES OR JEWELRY!!!
The ONLY effective way to sterilize the equipment properly is with an autoclave.

Maybe if you bothered doing any research at all, you'd be smarter.

Chances are you're probably gonna be a cool kid and use a safety pin. If thats what you're doing DON'T. Because it'll cause a keloid if you don't use a hollow need. All safety pins and guns do is push the cartilage aside, meaning it'll cause an unattractive lump on either side of your piercing.
