I'm wondering, is it possible just to get over it all? The depression, self harm, anxiety? I'm so tired of it. It's impossible to get through a single day without feeling paranoid about what others are thinking, or put myself down. I know it takes time and effort, but I don't want to go through this during the last years of my youth. Just for once I would like to be carelessly happy and not jealous of other peoples lives. I'm scared shit less of my future. I'm alone, with little money. I never thought about what it would be like to have no family or friends there to support me. Not that they were before, but at least they were there. Turning 18 and moving out hits you like a brick in the gut. While my mother is out there in Egypt having a great time with her new husband and family... I'm... scared and lonely and wishing my past were different. I want to go back and make things right. I should call my therapist on Saturday and start working on my Thought Chart. I've been putting it aside because I have so many negative thoughts that it feels impossible to overcome. Maybe it's something I should work on. I feel like such a loser.

If you are determined to make your life change, than you can overcome it. I did - I just woke up one day and told myself I was sick and tired of feeling the way I did, and stopped. Got a better job, started doing better in school. It's all just a matter of willpower and determination.
------- Shit happens. Learn from it, get over it, & move on.

You could start by focusing on your life, rather than on others. Whenever I feel down or upset, I always think of living today as it were my last, and that thought helps me jump back on track to apply effort where it's needed. I'm really sorry about not having your family around at the moment to support you, but you could try socializing a bit more to make new friends, don't just sit at home at day. The more time you have to yourself, the more thoughts will crawl into your mind about others and your problems. List a couple of things that you enjoy doing and get started. Do you have a job yet? Try getting one if you don't to help with the finances. Aren't your parents sending you money at least? I hope they are. Stop looking back on the past and move forward. Focus on improving your situation rather than regretting. Here's a couple of sites I visit to help me when I'm feeling low; hopefully you'll benefit from them. Site 1. This site has a lot of other really helpful articles. :) Site 2. Try doing some of these too. Site 3. One of my favorites. Good luck with everything. I'm rooting for you! You have no idea how thankful I am that you posted those links. I feel slightly better. Instead of doing my Thought Chart I think I'm going to blog good experiences.
