My sister and my boyfriend are very similar in this aspect... they both leave "arguments" with something like, "ok, you're right" (sarcasm) or "I don't like arguing". I don't like arguing either, and I could never figure out what they thought I was arguing.
I realized last night, that when trying to fix a misunderstanding, I just try to explain WHY I did what I did, or WHAT I meant from what I said. And suddenly, I'm arguing with them. Ironic, no? That I try to fix something to make them not irritated with me, and suddenly I'm arguing.
Example...
Sister: You didn't clean up your plate.
Me: Well, your piece of pizza was sitting in my plate, so I didn't take it away yet.
Sister: You're right, it's my fault (sarcastically).
-- How does it make it sound like I like to argue... both of them take it as a personal attack when I try to explain ~myself~ and think that I'm telling them that they are wrong -__-'.
So confusing :(. I hate arguments more than both of them too :(.
