In my opinion I think evidence points a bit towards that it was not total reason.

For one motion plus out of end of year no date for darwin and they seem to have had it in testing for some time They have a ruddy game to go with it.

Motion plues + Zelda game = OMG  so thats why we have to wait now

It was anounced at E3 they used a Wii sports 2 to show it (google it)

This is one of the reasons i think the claim is stupid

Evn games like Wii sports has to go through stages of planing beeng made and edited. Then testing for THAT GAME. then there is the wii motion plus (attachement that makes wii mote better at motion sensing) That has to go through stages of planing and testing.
