I was laughing my ass off last night and I only watched 30 minutes of it. He was just so funny, the way he completely roasted McCain and Bush! That shit was hilarious, I loved it!

I think he had a great deal of substance.

He explained himself very well, talking about the plans for this country and how they are realistic. He took the high horse and was able to recognize McCain's (mere)
"accomplishments" yet he followed up with great reasons not to vote for McCain. However, he didn't solely focus on McCain's downfalls but plenty of his own strengths.

This is the opposite of McCain's method, which is solely bashing Obama, neglecting to enforce his own strengths. Great job, OWG!

good luck, almost every politician has promised a ton of things but doesn't follow through because people have a short memory.

and even if he wanted to do these changes, they don't solve the underlying problems.  i dont care for mccain either, obama is slightly better in my opinion, but both are lameeeee

We'll see, I guess. The thing about elections is that you need to have some sort of faith in the candidates.

It is truly impossible for us to tell whether or not Obama or McCain will follow through with what they say. However, that is where faith needs to come in. For example, I have 0 faith in McCain, but a LOT of faith in Obama. That's my own personal choice. Whether or not Obama will actually follow through with his plans is unknown but I personally believe that he will.

Also, Obama recognizes the underlying problems. He understands that for the past 8 years, this country has undergone a hell of lot of destruction. He knows that it won't be simple to just pick up the pieces and quickly mend thing; he realizes that it will be a long process that he will begin. Sure, he might not be able to work absolute miracles, but he can start us on a path to a better country.

Countries cannot be mended in four years. Obama knows that. All intelligent people realize that. But all intelligent people also realize that mending a country has to begin SOMEWHERE - and that's a beginning that McCain is not willing to work on.

I liked his speech. I'm for Obama. He's such a good speaker, it's hard to keep your head on straight after listening to him but people need to try to realize that there's going to be a difference between what he ideally wants and what is realistically possible. I think his ability to capture people and inspire them is a big plus over running the traditional campaign. Politicians are always going to be politicians, but someone who can get people like Obama is an added bonus.

i dont see why anyone would have 'faith' in obama. he's changed his stances a bit and played the role of a politician, therefore i dont see any reason why anyone should have faith in him, m uch more than mccain anyway

and its more than just the past administration, the past administration has made this country a worse place, but the very flaws in our government, society, media, foreign policy, etc. nobody has the guts to recognize that shit let alone stand up to us

id say when the system is broken really badly, you cant really start a 'path' to change, you need to radically alter the whole landscape

i cant only blame obama for this nearly though, its the whole political climate

Saying that he's a good speaker is definitely an understatement. :)

He's a phenomenal speaker. Compared to George W. Bush, he's...I don't even know. Words cannot describe. Whereas Obama is articulate, intelligent, etc. George Bush can't even say one simple sentence without severely fucking up.

It's very inspiring to listen to our future president. :)

That makes me support him more, not less. I'm not sure that I would ever user the word "faith" when describing a political endorsement, but Obama appears to have a nice combination of genuine good intentions and not being a little bitch.
