Okay. for your first issue about the videos not working, the Zune plays .wmv and MPEG-4 in .mp4 and .m4v files. Two different free converters that are easy to use can be found at http://dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-to-iPod-Converter.htm and http://www.divx.com/ . For internet videos, such as youtube and such, you can use a free download source like http://www.veoh.com/ or use software to download youtube files with something like the software at http://dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm and then convert them to the proper format. And finally, if you want to rip your DVDs, chances are you are going to need a program to do it. The one at http://www.magicdvdripper.com/ rips them into a format already usable by the Zune.

With that particular youtube downloader, they download in .avi format, so the converter will help out a lot.
