Not so much the quality but if a guy ate a lot of meat/pasta and did loads and loads of push ups a week with a bag of weights on his back will he gain weight yes or no.

As long as you do push-ups,and exercise while eating, you will gain muscle mass.

you need to do more then push ups. Like widen out your workouts. And use weights. that will help

You shouldn't eat pasta everyday for muscle gain + exercise.

Pasta has EPIC amounts of carbs in it so it would be a lot for you to work off. The weight gain would soon be fat.

If you want I can tell you other shit that you should eat while working out
