Of course there's no one defined reason, but it's certainly a popular one. If you ever see a black person who feels oppressed by the white man and ask him why he feels that way, he'll probably bring up anti-black discriminatory laws in the past and slavery. Historical discrimination is often a favorite minorities use to justify any kind of reverse racism they have today. Remember, the key idea in reverse racism is that it's reactionary - they're reacting with racism to racism against them, and in general you see them reacting to it by what they know about racism in the past. They have a very difficult time justifying themselves today, especially when we have a half black candidate running for president, so often times you'll see them ignore the present and focus solely on the past.
Ok, I understand the concept of racism against racism, but do have you actually asked people of color why they're racist against whites?
------- Come on baby, let's go!

Bud2400 i see what u are sayin but i think it is all pretty conditional. the reverse discrimination applies in the few situations where blacks are treatin a white person unfairly and use slavery and the past to justify it. However, if a black is treatin a white unfairly just because i see that as just plain old discrimination. the past doesn't even apply there.
------- Haaanestly?

Depends on your location really. You can find places where White people will gladly say something blatantly racist, and think it's correct.
It's not as divided as one might be led to think. I've been all over the Deep South (specifically, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, and northern Florida) and while there is a much clearer divide between whites and blacks than in most places (sort of a de facto segregation), nobody really believes that one group is superior over the other. You can certainly find a few (of which the media loves highlighting) who think that, but in general, peoples' opposition against racism doesn't differ too greatly from anywhere else in the United States.
It's not everywhere that white people are victims, I rarely see it, but I am aware that it happens. Why? Because of where I live. Just like I'm sure there are people who don't see racism against minorities. While I'm also sure there are places where this is not an issue in the very least.
It really depends on the concentration of minorities, to be honest, so it is somewhat locational. After all, it obviously won't be much of an issue to homogeneous communities. At the same time, in even the most homogeneous of schools, kids are often confronted with racism through readings, videos, MLK Day assemblies, etc. Remember, I have never seen a black person be discriminated against by a white person in my life - and I have a few black friends myself! But that doesn't mean I don't believe it happens either. I think a lot of the discrimination we see today isn't all that noticeable to others witnessing it.
However I don't agree that in Grade School we are taught that white people are evil, and racist. At least in my schools this was not the case.
Not exactly like that (nobody ever claims that whites are all evil and racist), but they do highlight the ways white governments have discriminated against minorities. But rarely do you ever see anybody talking about the reverse racism that results from that. Nobody seems to want to highlight how returning the racism expressed against them is just as wrong.

Like I said, the point of this topic is to try and make it seem as if whites are far more discriminated against, really.
Bullshit. I clearly expressed that minorities have been, and in ways still are, discriminated against today. But everybody knows this - hence why I don't focus on it. I'm more interested in focusing on something that most people aren't as aware of, and the fact that I'm aware of it is in part due to the fact that I am white I will admit, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it exists and in at least a big of a way as racism against any minority. Please, give me quotes to back your assertions or GTFO.

You call it plain old discrimination simply because you don't know the specific reason why this said black person is treating the white person unfairly. Fair enough, and I believe that this is a good thought process to follow. But as I have said, I have spoken to many minorities about this and I have collected many reasons why they might feel that way, why they think others feel that way, etc. and the vast majority of it tends to come from examples in the past, or some kind of thinking that whites are discriminating against them! Thus my broadly labeling this as reverse discrimination. And don't be naive - discrimination in the past has led to resentment, and this resentment fuels racism against whites even today as that same resentment gets passed through the generations.
