Duh, because at your age that shit is completely unnecessary. Wait until you get a little older, you'll see the reasons for drinking. I drink but only a few beers, however when playing games which includes shot I can definitely hold my own.
I dont see any good in it, what does getting buzzed do? what good comes out of it? Fact is most people drink because it makes them look good to their peers,. drinking aint gonna take away from problems, it will just be right back when your off the buzz. Theres no good in it

Some people don't drink because of religion. I don't drink because i believe in God and that drunkeness is a sin. I also don't think that a mass quanity of alcohol is healthy!

Well there could be several reasons why he does this. First of all, (and the rest of you should take note), it could be because he is trying to show respect for those who are paying for him to be in college. Do you know how many freshmen drop out because they partied too hard? This isn't high school anymore. Not that I'm saying that you SHOULDN'T have fun, but remember, once you get out of college you have to take responsibility for yourself. Secondly, like other people have mentioned, perhaps he is too busy with school work. Thirdly, he could've had bad experiences with alcohol and could be trying to kick the habit. Lastly, maybe he just plain doesn't like alcohol. Rare as it is, it exists (*points to self* :P). You could ask him yourself, but do not push him if he says no.

i go through cycles of hittin the piss and havin a good time, then hittin the piss wayy too hard and fucking myself up a few times, then saying im never drinking again!, so i dont drink for a few weeks and then bam the cycle restarts!

I am a Junior in college and I don't drink because I don't really like it. I dislike the taste of alcohol, and while I do enjoy getting buzzed once in awhile, I don't like being drunk. There are many other better, safer drugs (read: cannabis) to do that alcohol.
