I wouldn't sweat it I'm in university in another country and the only problem I had was getting my head around the accents and vernacular here. I did take off for a year and traveled around a bit first just to get it out of my system. In the end I found the higher learning academic environment to be easier for me to take in the studies as most of my fellow students are serious about being there.
