Going to be in a wheel chair :(

At the moment I am in hospital, and will be until at least Saturday. I am really really weak at the moment, I can't even brush my own hair. But, when I am well enough to leave, I will have to be in a wheel chair, and I am really scared about that. I will be able to get out and use crutches a little, but it will be 1 month- 1 year before I am well enough to walk properly. I am really scared that I won't be able to go to college and live my life. I feel so weak and helpless, its making my PTSD worse.

Wow sounds pretty rough. That would be pretty scary. At least it's not forever though, you will learn to cope with it pretty quickly while you have to.

Wheelchairs aren't as disabling as people think, it only prevents you from activities like sports and things like stairs. You're still able to go out with friends and go to school, college is definitely still an option. You even might be able to get some type of scholarship because of your wheelchair, who knows. Keep picturing yourself walking again, you'll get there eventually.

brushing your hair requires reaching, and a lot of arm movement. This computer reaches over my bed. I'm sorry... you think I am lying...

Don't listen, they have no hearts whatsoever. Just listen to those who give you good advice and ignore those who don't.

You won't be as dissabled as you think in a wheelchair, you will get used to it and you won't really notice it after a while :) Besides you will be on crutches after a month right?
That's barely anytime! Trust me it will go fast. And crutches are fun lol!
You will get your strength back and I think you should really focus on the positive things.
You will be able to have a fully functioning normal life, I don't see how you won't, also your college will have ramps, and maybe to get your mind off it, you should focus on your studies. :)

Good luck!

Can you honestly not understand the difference between holding your arms above your head/ moving them up and down, and letting them rest on some surface while only your fingers move?
Also she's in a fucking wheelchair, something she's not use to, something obviously scary. Sounds like she could use a little bit of support, doesn't it?.

Thanks you too, your really nice :).
The college I want to go to is quite far from my home, I'm worried I won't be able to get there.
