I find that making note cards of the important material or all material makes life easy! You dont need to care a bunch of papers or such u just have a few note cards with all the information that you need to know... kinda like flash cards!

First of all you have to avoid temptation.  Video games, porno, sex with the girlfriend, porno, t.v., porno, concerts, porno, drinking, parties, porno, and am I missing something.

Oh yeah..   Porno.

=just kidding=

The best method is to study ahead of time.  Don't wait for the day before, because you're going to be up all night.  So much to a point where you won't be able to focus.  If you're like ME and you study your ass off, you will KNOW when your brain is pretty much fried.

So, yes..  Study as many hours as you can.  But now so much as to where you can't remember something so simple.

Try to study a couple hours BEFORE the actual test, too, so that the answers to fresh in your mind.  That always works for me.

The only classes that I REALLY have to study hard for are the Government/History/Economics classes.

I will read the chapters over and over, write outlines, highlight the MOST important stuff in the outline, draw diagrams, rephrase stuff in my own words so it makes more sense, go over the outline everyday, and quiz myself on some online/book quizzes....And on the day of the test, I will pull out my outline 15-20 minutes before the test, study it, and get some stuff fresh on my mind.

Well there are tons of ways to study for any exam. I found that for finals it helped to take lots of naps in between studying. I took a nap about every 4 hours and it really helps. If the teacher posts any past exams or anything go though them. I also found to be best to study early on that way you don't need to cram. Even though that is best it isn't always possible, so take naps because it is when u sleep that you form certain type of proteins that help  you remember ( that is all i know, not a medical person i promise). Eat a lot of proteins if u don't want to gain weight while cramming, drinking soy milk ( if u like it and not the Organic kind) helps do to the soy proteins. One main thing that helped me is the library because it is a lot of open space, so i don't feel crammed in one tiny place. I hope this helps you or anyone that reads it because it helped me.

Honestly, everyone has their own techniques.  Personally I will re-read over all of the material, go over chapter summaries, create questions for myself that I think would be on the test, take practice tests if possible, but the main thing is to re-write the study guide or a study guide that I create.  If you have essay tests, look for lectures where your teacher seems the most passionate or where he goes into a greater amount of detail, more often then not, that subject matter will show up on the test.

do never start with the exercises. first read the thing you have to study. underline the most impornat things. or just rewrite them on some paper. be sure of understanding the whole.  if you don't. go talk with your teacher. theyre always there to help. then start and you will see that its much easier then it looks.  oh and be sure of being fully relaxed, if your tired go take a nap and come back. (coffee helps too).  and finally do your studies on the good desk.  It is a fact that you are more absorbed and happy of studying when you like the way your desk is placed and ornemented let's say!

rewrite your notes everyday when you get home. And then like 5 days before the test make flashcards and every night learn a certain number of them and keep reviewing them

I use flashcards a lot...i prefer to study alone and then befor yhe test have a session with a group and test eachother.

I also go over the notes and skim what I've learned and try to think of what would be on the test and implant it in my brain!

I usually study by re-reading every chapter that will be on the test and making flash cards of the most important topics/terms so I can study them later. Then I go through my notes and all of the power points and I make sure to study extra hard for the topics that the professor stressed during lectures.

Well, honestly I don't know if my studying habits will work for you or not.  But I'll tell you mine anyways.  I'll list what I do in chronological order---

1*I make study guides from what is supposed to be on the test

2*I also use the material that my teacher gives me that is supposed to be on the test. I read over it a few times and the same with the study guide I made.

3*I take breaks between studying so I don't stress myself out... During those breaks I usually listen to music, watch a bit of tv, or take a little nap.  *I always set my alarm clock to wake me up so I don't over sleep*

4*Then I just study my material over and over until I feel that its implanted into my brain.

5*Sometimes if I don't get the gist of something such as a vocabulary word.  I think of something that is like a clue that way I can match it up with the correct definition whenever I take the test.

6*To be safe, I usually study on the bus as well.

Hope this helps you out.....

omg thaats a lot of work. I should do that next year

Flash cards help for some classes, and going over notes works well, too. For math, I usually try a few practice problems from my textbook.
